The Vietnam Anti-war Movement

This cartoon shows two men at war. One of them is receiving a message that says that the Vietcong can’t win. The bottom of the cartoon says “I hope the Vietcong know this!” This cartoon shows how the entire American population believes that the Vietcong cannot win. However, obviously the Vietcong do not know this. This could be construed as a reason that America lost the war; they were underprepared and did not take the Vietcong seriously. Obviously the Vietcong could win the war, which makes the United States seem ignorant and unaware in this cartoon. It has an antiwar sentiment because it makes the United States seem like they are unprepared for this war, so they should not be fighting in the war.
